The Metropolitan Opera鈥檚 award- winning series of live high-definition cinema simulcasts opens at 香蕉直播 Sullivan鈥檚 Seelig Theatre on Saturday, December 7, 2024, with an encore holiday transmission of Mozart鈥檚 The Magic Flute*, an abridged, English-language production of an enchanting musical fairy tale staged by Julie Taymor鈥攖he Tony Award鈥搘inning director of Broadway鈥檚 The Lion King. With dazzling puppets and a colorful setting, the Met鈥檚 Magic Flute is an ultimate seasonal sensation for family audiences.
The 2024鈥�25 Live in HD season also features new stagings of Strauss鈥檚 Salome by director Claus Guth, with a cast led by soprano Elza van den Heever and baritone Peter Mattei, and Verdi鈥檚 Aida, with soprano Angel Blue and tenor Piotr Becza艂a, directed by Michael Mayer; the first-ever Met Live in HD transmission of Beethoven鈥檚 Fidelio, along with Mozart鈥檚 Le Nozze di Figaro with an all-star cast; and director Bartlett Sher鈥檚 beloved take on Rossini鈥檚 Il Barbiere di Siviglia, with opera鈥檚 newest star, mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina, returning to the Met after her hit run this season in the new production of Bizet鈥檚 Carmen. Met Music Director Yannick Ne虂zet-Se虂guin conducts Aida and Salome.

Doors open 30 minutes before screening | All screenings (aside from The Magic Flute and Aida) are simulcasts of live performances and will start promptly as listed.
